Welcome to Southtown Primary School Nurturing shoots - growing minds

Willow Class - SRB

Welcome to Willow Class!

Willow Class is a Specialist Resource Base (SRB), providing specialist teaching for children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).  We work very closely with our speech therapy colleagues.  Places are allocated by the Local Authority.

A full time teacher, higher level teaching assistant and teaching assistant work in the SRB supported every morning by a speech therapist.

Norfolk's Speech and Language SRBs also employ an outreach teacher who works with all five SRBs to provide advice, support and training for mainstream colleagues across the county.

Ofsted - July 2017

'The Provision for pupils...who attend the Specialist Resource Base is well led. Pupils are skilfully supported and progress well academically and socially.'

Mrs Baker, Miss Gamble and Miss Dyball  all work in Willow Class every day.

Our Speech Therapists are Mrs Underwood and Miss Jarvis   - who come in to work with the children every morning.

There are lots of things to remember every week!

  • Monday is breakfast day - We have breakfast together first thing in the morning and catch up on news from the children's mainstream schools and from the weekend.
  • Tuesday is library day - The children should bring back their library books so that they can choose a new one.
  • Thursday is PE - Don't forget your kit!
  • Friday is 'home school' day - The children all attend their mainstream classes.

ALIEN LANDING! In October, a mysterious space ship has crashed in our wildlife garden. The children investigated what might have happened and found out a lot about space and the planets,

APPLE DAY - We had great fun in October, pressing apples to make our own apple juice.

Thetford Forest - A fantastic day out in June with our friends from Norfolk's other SRBs
