SRB
Rosen Class is Southtown Primary School's Specialist Resource Base.
We specialise in supporting the Speech Language and Communication needs of ten children from primary schools across the local area and beyond.
The children are supported by a specialist teacher, an HLTA and a TA, all trained to work alongside our Speech therapy colleagues to help the children improve their communication skills and return to their mainstream classes Our speech therapists are in the SRB for two days each week.
All of our children have access to the full Foundation Stage or Key Stage 1 curriculum and also have lots of opportunities to join in with activities and events within the school.
Our Learning this Half Term
Our curriculum focus for the first half of the autumn term is on seasonal changes and the weather. We will be building on the children's experiences of the world around them and thinking about how it changes through the months and seasons of the year. We will learn particularly about autumn and use the school environment to explore how the natural world is changing. We will measure and record aspects of the weather in science and look at weather patterns across the countries of the United Kingdom in Geography.
We will read stories which explore seasonal changes and use these as a focus for our writing. We will also use our 'storybox' in drama to create our own autumn themed stories.
Have a look at our Curriculum Plan for the term to see some of the other learning that the children will be doing across the curriculum this half term.
