Welcome to Southtown Primary School Nurturing shoots - growing minds

Headteacher's Welcome

We cultivate and nurture attitudes of support, respect and care in all our activities and relationships and for all our children. Equally important is learning. We have set high standards for everything we do and strongly believe in the importance of the core skills of communication, reading, writing and mathematics.

Come and visit! You are sure to get a feel for what we are all about as soon as you walk in. The staff share in my belief that all children can achieve success, with the right teaching, guidance and nurturing environment that we promote here. We encourage our pupils to develop that self-belief and we set high expectations for them, because we know that they achieve their best when they are challenged, engaged, and motivated. Our excellent pastoral support system provides access for all children to staff,  who are there to listen, challenge, and engage them in their school day. In the Junior School, each child is also part of our house system, where they can feel part of a team. This instills a strong sense of belonging and community. We are proud of our school and being part of the Southtown Community.

'Pupils' personal development is promoted effectively and they are cared for well.  Pupils are happy and behave well.  They enjoy coming to school, feel safe and are keen to learn'

'Pupils are skilfully supported and progress well academically and socially'

We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.  Copies of information or policies on this website are available from the school office free of charge.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.

We believe that education involves a close partnership between the home and school and take care to encourage this bond.

You are welcome to visit the school at any time.
