SRB - Panda Class
Panda Class is Southtown Primary School's Specialist Resource Base.
We specialise in supporting the Speech Language and Communication needs of ten children from primary schools across the local area and beyond.
The children are supported by a specialist teacher, an HLTA and a TA, all trained to work alongside our Speech therapy colleagues to help the children improve their communication skills and return to their mainstream classes Our speech therapists are in the SRB for two days each week.
All of our children have access to the full Foundation Stage or Key Stage 1 curriculum and also have lots of opportunities to join in with activities and events within the school.
Our Learning this Half Term
Our focus for the first half of the summer term is on the lives of significant people.
We will learn about Mary Anning, who was famous for her fossil-hunting and about the difference that she made to our understanding of the world. We will learn a little about dinosaurs, thinking about what we know already about animal groups.
We will find out about the life of David Attenborough and make some comparisons with Mary Anning.
We will be writing dinosaur fact files, labels and descriptions and writing our own dinosaur poems
Have a look at our Curriculum Plan for the term to see some of the other learning that the children will be doing across the curriculum this half term.
